Founders
Nick Lockwood
Nick grew up in Baltimore, Md where he played at Calvert Hall High School. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he was a standout midfielder on the nationally ranked midshipmen team. After graduation in 2001, he played on the Beachcomber Lacrosse Club in San Diego, Ca and currently plays for the Marin Lacrosse Club. Nick has coached at numerous camps over the years and was the Assistant Coach at Norfolk Academy in Norfolk, Va in 2004, leading that team to the state semi-finals. Prior to moving to San Francisco in January, Nick coached at Coronado High School in San Diego, Ca. Nick is presently the Offensive Coordinator for SFUHS.
Matt Mesa
Matt grew up in Connecticut and played lacrosse at Daniel Hand High School prior to attending the U.S. Naval Academy. At Navy, Matt was a standout defenseman on the highly ranked midshipmen defense and graduated in 2003. Matt is currently a defenseman on the Olympic Club Lacrosse Team. He has coached at numerous camps and held an intern assistant coach position at Navy following graduation. Matt is currently the head coach at SFUHS.
Braden Edwards
Braden grew up in Pennsylvania and was captain of the 1990 Gettysburg College team where he was a 2x All-American as a defenseman. He has played club lacrosse for fifteen years and currently plays for Marin Lacrosse Club. Over the years Braden has coached at many camps and clinics and is currently in his 5th season of coaching at SFUHS as the Defensive Coordinator. Braden is also on the selection committee for the 2008 U-15 Nor Cal Team.
Girl's Program Coordinator
Mary Beth Noel
After graduating from The Agnes Irwin School (Rosemont, PA) in 1995, Mary Beth captained the lacrosse and field hockey teams at William and Mary where she graduated with a degree in English in 1999. She was also an alternate member of the 1995 US U-19 team. Post-college, MB was an Assistant Coach at UC Berkeley for four years. She also coached for the former Nor-CalElite lacrosse club, and currently coaches the 2009 Gold team for BearLax Club. MB is in her second year as head coach of the SFUHS girls team.
Coaches
San Francisco Lacrosse League teams will be coached by college and post-college players who have many years associated with the sport and have experienced a multitude of success at the collegiate level. It will be their job to mentor and teach the players throughout the course of the season.
Referees
San Francisco Lacrosse League will use only certified Pacific Coast Lacrosse Officials for all league games.
Trainers
Certified Athletic Trainers from Timeline Sports Medicine will be on site at all league practices and games.
